Xilinx launches composable data center for satisfying various applications demands

Today's data center faces changing requirements and applications, it is required to remain scalable, and agile  enough to run these changing applications without hardware upgrades and extensions.

According to Ed Wright, director of marketing for Xilinx's data center division, Xilinx has been working on this problem for a long time and has launched a modular data center. This is not simply the separation of computing, networking and storage, not just at the infrastructure level, but can be scalable and configurable at the component level to meet the needs of various applications.

The SN1000 SmartNIC includes not only the offloading of network functions, but also the offloading and acceleration of computing, which is also a core of the composable data center.

On the VitisR software platform, developers can build and deploy FPGA-based Alveo cards in a modular way. With modular, it can support the mending-and-matching of function libraries, and then support a very wide range of algorithmic trading use cases. At this level, the framework and IP of algorithmic trading can be deployed. Xilinx's Accelerated Evolution Trading, out of the box, is a solution based on the Xilinx Alveo Accelerated Card that allows traders to use very complex strategies to achieve low latency requirements of less than a microsecond without the need for hardware development. For software developers, time to market can be significantly reduced.

Prior to this, Although the deployment of CPU-driven algorithmic trading is fast and simple, it is not competitive in the market, either it is very expensive and time-consuming to develop. So Xilinx's accelerated algorithmic trading fills a gap in the market between algorithmic trading and CPU or custom hardware development.
