Taiyo Yuden new building for MLCC production
The semiconductor industry is facing a shortage of chips supply, most of the manufacturers issued a price increase and stepped up production. Taiyo Yuden announced the construction of a new material building at Yawatahara Plant (Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, Japan) for the production of barium titanate used as the raw material for multilayer ceramic capacitors.
The construction of the new material plant is based on Taiyo Yuden’s medium-term growth strategy. To match the development of automotive, communications infrastructures, and other electronics applications, it is expected that the demand for multilayer ceramic capacitors will further expand.
The building has invested about 5 billion yen and will break ground in Sept. this year.
