Maxim released TMC6140-LA to maximize battery life and cut component count

 TMC6140-LA

Recently, Maxim Integrated released a Trinamic's 3-Phase Mosfet Gate Driver TMC6140-LA, which is to maximize battery life and cut component count. TMC6140-LA simplifies design of brushless DC motor drives and improves efficiency by 30%.

It comes with a switching regulator. Base on the optimization of performance for a wide range of voltage, it is ideal served on applications such as motors, brushless motors and permanent magnet synchronous motors.

The Trinamic's 3-Phase Mosfet Gate Driver equipped with the corresponding pins to facilitate the addition of a charge pump, statically stabilizes the gate voltage of the external Mosfet in the Trinamic's 3-Phase motor, the coil current is up to 100A. Features QFN-36 to provide a flexible solution for 5V to 30V DC and 0.5A or 1.0A battery-powered applications, such as power tools with a voltage that lower than 10V.

TMC6140-LA integrated three low-side current-sense amplifiers for current detection and diagnosis functions to simplify design while improving functional safety, which helps engineers to improve efficiency by 30%. The integrated current-sense amplifier provides current monitoring and reports status information. The analog programmable short-circuit detection function and diagnostic output provide status feedback for the host.
