STM decided to increase the price of all lines in the last quarter, including the existing backlog of orders. According to the notice, it pointed out the continuous impact of entire industry by the supply shortage. It seems that the situation will be lasted in the short term.
The new round of price increase from leading manufacturers reflects that the shortage of semiconductor production capacity has not yet been alleviated. In addition, the chip factories face a challenge on cost and delivery due to the continuous price increases of upstream raw materials and transportation costs. Some makers worried further price increased may curb downstream demand.
